Ferry Park is Rock Hall’s own little beach area. Open to guests, travelers, tourists, and locals it’s a hot spot that anyone from anywhere can some an enjoy and take in the scenic view, year ’round!
Here’s what folks from all over have to say about Rock Hall’s own Ferry Park:
“Took my Autistic son to this beach…He had a wonderful time and it was great all the way around as I felt it was safe to watch him from the bench. He was thrilled to be able to see the Bay Bridge in the distance” – Susan G.
“My wife and I go every chance we get to watch amazing Chesapeake Bay sunsets. Calm, relaxing, and the true Pearl of the Chesapeake!” -Anthony C.
“Rock Hall’s beach consists of 3 small crescents and a small rock jetty between each one. It is truly a nice small town sandy beach with a gentle slope and nice views on a clear day across the Chesapeake Bay to the skyline of Baltimore. There is some open green space in the park with areas to picnic, a bathroom and is located across the street from homes in a small residential area. There is a small parking area for the park and beach.” – Mark G.
“This is a charming, immaculate, welcoming little sand beach, with a rock breakwater, in a town that is mostly privately owned waterfront or marinas.” -Karen W.
“Average rating only because it is a smaller beach (yet I haven’t been to another beach on the Bay to compare in all fairness) – I liken it to a lake beach. However, this is a terrific beach for little ones or older ones who like to be able to walk out far and still be waist high in water. The temperature was like bath water. Two gazebos w/ picnic tables. A bit sea-weedy but very, very enjoyable once you walked past it. Benches are on a boardwalk separating the beach from the road which is very convenient. Rental houses across the road. A popular place for watching the sunset and for watching the ospreys and even a turkey vulture. Oh and wooden cut-outs to take pictures of the kiddies.” -Diane E.
“The Beach at Rock Hall is just one of the many gems this unique little waterfront town has to offer. There is no better vantage of the upper Chesapeake anywhere, nor, is there a better place to watch the sunset (except, possibly on a sunset cruise with Blue Crab Charters). The beach is the perfect place to spend the afternoon swimming, sunning and, even barbecuing some burgers and hot dogs on the charcoal grills. Bring the family and enjoy a real eastern shore treasure.” -firstmate
If you’re enjoying the beautiful sunset, wildlife, or other natural aspects of Ferry Point in 2019, be sure to top it off with a stop to Rock Hall’s own Wheelhouse Restaurant for some outdoor games, a few drinks at the tiki bar, or even a private event in the dining room! We have a great view of the harbor!
